Slots for the Ethernet Line and Controller Cards

The chassis has slots for four Ethernet line cards and two AT-
SBx81CFC400 Controller Cards. The slot definitions are predefined and
may not be changed. Figure 5 identifies the slots.

Figure 5. Ethernet Line and Controller Cards Slots

Slots 1 to 4 are for the Ethernet line cards. The cards may be installed in
any order or variety in the slots. For more information on the Ethernet
cards, refer to Chapter 2, “Ethernet Line Cards” on page 33.

Slots 5 and 6 are for the AT-SBx81CFC400 Controller Fabric Card. The
chassis must have at least one controller card. Installing a second
controller card in the chassis provides these benefits:



Management redundancy



Increased traffic bandwidth

For more information on the controller card, refer to Chapter 3, “AT-
SBx81CFC400 Controller Fabric Card” on page 53.
