Connect the Kinetix 5700 Drive System
External Active-shunt
Connections
Active shunts are available from the Rockwell Automation® Encompass™
Partner Powerohm Resistors, Inc.
Active shunts wire to the DC-bus studs. The capacitor modules are equipped
with spacers that slide onto the M8 studs. When the system configuration
includes external DC-bus and active shunt connections, external DC-bus
connections are made below the spacer and active shunt connections are made
above the spacer.

(1) A 2198-CAPMOD-2240 capacitor module is needed in systems with the external DC-bus current up to 100 A.
(2) A 2198-CAPMOD-DCBUS-IO extension module is needed if the external DC-bus current is greater than 100 A, up to a maximum
for example configurations that include these capacitor modules.

ATTENTION:
Do not use Powerohm active-shunt modules at input line
voltages that exceed 500V AC. Active-shunt thermal-overload shutdown can
occur if input line voltage exceeds 500V AC.
