Regenerative Brake Operation
Regenerative Brake
Sizing
The following steps should be taken to size a 1336 REGEN Line
Regeneration Package for Regenerative Brake Operation.
1. The 1336 REGEN Converter and 1336 REGEN Precharge
unit must be sized as a package, with both components having
the same nameplate amp rating.
2. In the Regenerative Brake configuration, the 1336 REGEN
Line Regeneration Package removes energy from the DC bus
of a standard drive and returns it back to the utility system. To
calculate the rating of the Line Regeneration Package needed
for a Regenerative Brake application the following informa-
tion must be known:
Nameplate Motor HP
Motor Inertia
Load Inertia
Gear Reduction Ratio
Maximum Motor Speed
Minimum Motor Speed
Minimum Deceleration Time
