ASSEMBLING THE PINLOCK
®
ANTI FOG LENS
After removing the visor from the helmet, place the Pinlock
®
anti fog lens inside it, with the silicone seal facing
the inside of the visor.
Insert the notch on the left side of the lens onto the pin located inside the visor on the left side (19), then flex the
lens slightly (20) and insert the right notch onto the right pin of the visor.
21 Check that that silicone seal on the Pinlock
®
anti fog lens adheres tightly to the visor along the whole of the
perimeter of the helmet (22).
Remove the protective film from the Pinlock
®
anti fog lens and fit the visor on the helmet.
Important. The Pinlock
®
anti fog lens must be handled with care to prevent scratches or
abrasions from forming on its surface.
REMOVING AND CLEANING THE PINLOCK
®
ANTI FOG LENS
To remove the lens repeat the operations (20 and 19) in reverse order.
Clean the Pinlock
®
anti fog lens using mild soap, warm water and a moistened soft cloth. Allow it to dry
thoroughly for at least one day before repositioning it.
Important. NEVER USE ABRASIVE
CLEANING PRODUCTS OR LIQUIDS CONTAINING AMMONIA OR ALCOHOL.
ASSEMBLING THE TEAR OFFS
The tear off is used to protect the visor from dirt that can accumulate while riding and to keep it clean by removing
the strip as required by tearing it off.
Important. Make sure to remove the protective film on both sides before fitting the tear
off on the visor.
Before installing the tear off rotate the eccentric pawls, moving them toward each other; then fasten the tear
off to the pawls (23) with the tear-off tab on the side of the helmet you prefer. To make the tear-off tab easier to
grasp, the tear off can be bent slightly to the outside, so that it does not adhere fully to the helmet. Then rotate the
eccentric fastening pawls (24) to tighten the tear off and make it adhere correctly to the visor. Finally, according
to your needs, a second tear off can be applied over the first one, with the tear-off tab on the side you prefer.
REMOVING/FITTING THE NOSE GUARD
Remove the nose guard by pulling it upward (25).
To reposition, insert the fastening tooth into the special housings and press until it snaps into place.
REMOVING THE WIND BREAK
Slide out the part of the wind break inserted between the outer shell and the chin guard (26).
To replace it, repeat the operations in reverse order.
REMOVING THE CHEEK PADS AND NECK ROLL
To remove the cheek pads, hold them in front near the chin guard and pull them in the direction of the arrow
to free them from the press studs (27). Slide the plastic flap out of its position and remove the cheek pads (28).
To reposition, repeat the previous operations in reverse order.
REMOVAL/INSTALLATION OF THE EAR CUSHIONS
A couple of ear cushions (39) are installed in the cheek pads (40) of the helmet.
Pull out the cheek pad by acting on the buttons to remove the ear cushions (41) and extract them.
Align the holes with the back buttons of the cheek pad to insert the ear cushions back and reposition the cheek
pads (42). Check to make sure the cheek pads are firmly attached to the helmet.
REMOVING THE CROWN PAD
To remove the crown pad, undo the buttons at the front (29) then at the rear (30).
Reverse the process to fit the pad.
PATENTED REVERSIBLE HEADSET
The reversible headset has two sides of different fabrics, identifiable by the inscription:
- REVERSIBLE COOLER SIDE (smooth and cool fabric to the touch, usable in the summer time)
- REVERSIBLE WARMER SIDE (resistant and velvety for the winter time)
Proceed as follows to change the internal side (44):
- Remove the headset, unbutton the front and back buttons
- Turn the headset over to the other side
- Remove the buttons and reinsert them on the other side
- Reattach the polystyrene headset by fastening the buttons.
WASHING THE INNER PARTS
After having removed the inner parts, the crown pad and cheek pads can be hand washed in warm water with mild soap.
After washing, rinse in running water. Do not wring and dry at room temperature away from direct sunlight.
OPENING/CLOSING THE CHIN GUARD AIR VENTS
To open/close the chin vent, raise/lower the mechanism inside the vent (33,34,35).
OPENING/CLOSING THE FRONT AIR VENTS
The helmet has n° 3 air vents arranged in the front area of the helmet above the visor.
The air vents are opened and closed with an opening/closing mechanism.
The air vents are opened by pushing the slider upward (36) while the vents are closed by pulling the slider
downward (37).
REAR EXTRACTORS
The rear area of the helmet is provided with n° 2 extractors, which are always open due to their structure and
position and allow air to be removed from inside the helmet with a proportional effect as speed increases.
RESCUE PULL SYSTEM
It’s a mechanism that can be used by emergency personnel to remove the cheek pads. In case of emergency,
the chinstrap must be cut or untied to remove the cheek pad. Grab the red emergency ribbon, while holding the
helmet to prevent the pilot’s head from moving (31), and pull on it in the direction shown (32). Pull on the red
ribbon to release the automatic buttons and to extract the helmet’s cheek pad while it is still on the driver’s head.
Repeat this procedure to remove the other side. Hold on tightly to the helmet and do not move the pilot’s head
while removing the cheek pads.
Warning:
1) Do not pull on the emergency red ribbon while driving.
2) Only use original AGV cheek pads and never non-AGV components.
3) Do not use the Rescue Pull System to remove the cheek pad for maintenance.
FITTING/REMOVING THE SPOILER
The helmet is provided with a spoiler which can be used to increase its aerodynamic performance by reducing
drag and increasing stability.
To remove the spoiler unscrew the 3 screws fastening it to the helmet, 2 at the sides and 1 in the centre.
To fit it (43), the spoiler must be positioned on the helmet and fastened with the 3 screws.
