Daisy Chain
Daisy chain operation is similar to single unit remote operation except each unit must
have a different address (PRM:94). The following procedure should be used to enable
multiple units in a daisy chain. For each unit in the chain, do the following:
•
Set PRM:95=1
•
Set PRM:94=address (must be different for each unit)
•
Save parameters
•
Issue a reset
In order to address a BAI, the user must send the following commands:
•
Send 0x03 (CTRL-C)
•
Send 0x02 (CTRL-B)
•
Send the address of the target unit defined in PRM:94
•
Send a remote command
Each time a unit is opened, the above commands must be sent. These commands close
the open unit and open a new unit.
If these commands are sent incorrectly, a reset will be sent to all units.
If part of this procedure fails and the user cannot regain control of the unit in
remote mode, sending a CTRL-A (0x1) will put all of the units back into local
mode.
Any non-printable character sent to the BAI will be sent back to the PC. Since the
non-printable characters (0x00 to 0x1F) are global commands, (all the units in the
chain [see Figure 1-15]) will be transmitted back to the PC.
