Chapter 3 — Measuring with the DWR-10

2.  Decide if you want to test one winding at a time, or 

two windings in series. (To test two in series, see the 
instructions above.) 

3.  Connect the test leads to the transformer.  

4. Select 

Manual 

mode from the menu list.  

Testing Without Saving 

Use this method if you want to test without saving results 
and data. 

1. Press 

the 

Test/Dump 

button to start the current 

injection.  

2. Press 

the 

Test/Dump

 button again when you are 

finished. The current indicator will turn red 
indicating the current is discharging. 

3.  Do not disconnect the test leads until the reading 

becomes zero.  

Testing and Saving 

Use this method if you want to save results and 
transformer data to a file for future printing or report 
production. 

1. Press 

the 

Menu

 button and open the 

Unit Definition 

window. 

2.  Enter the serial number of the transformer.  

3.  Enter other data as required in the 

Unit Definition

 

window (optional).  

4. Press 

the 

Back 

button. 

5.  If required, press the 

Tap/Winding 

button to enter 

tap and winding information.
