Press the START/STOP test start button.
The DRM-100 will ramp the current up to the selected
test current in 2-3 seconds, then hold the current, then
ramp the current back to zero on 2-3 seconds. The total
time will be the time set.
The resistance value will be visible once the current is
stabilized and will remain on the screen at the end of the
test.
Trouble-shooting Mode
The DRM-100 includes a 20-amp trouble-shooting mode.
In this mode, the output current is continuous and the
potential leads can be moved to any location to determine
the resistance of the section between the potential leads.
Although the DRM-100 is capable of measuring
resistance with several hundred volts of common mode
noise on the current outputs and voltage inputs of the
instrument, it is recommended that one side of the device
under test (EUT) be grounded prior to connecting the
DRM-100.
It is also recommended that the instrument be grounded.
Make sure the input switch is OFF.
Connect the current leads to the current output and
connect the 400-amp alligator clamps to the terminals of
the EUT.
Connect the potential leads to the voltage input terminals
on the DRM-100 and connect the small alligator clamps
to the same terminals of the EUT.
Make sure the potential clips and the current clamps do
not physically touch each other.
