Installation, service and, at a
minim u m, ann u al inspection of heater m u st b e done
b y a contractor q u alified in the installation and
service of gas-fired heating eq u ipment.
Read this man u al caref u lly b efore installation,
operation or service of this eq u ipment.
Heaters are not approved for residential installation.
These instr
u ctions, the layo u t dra w ing, local codes
and ordinances and applica b le standards that apply
to gas piping, electrical w iring, venting, etc. m u st b e
thoro u ghly u nderstood b efore proceeding w ith the
installation.
Protective gear is to
b e w orn d u ring installation,
operation and service. Thin sheet metal parts have
sharp edges. To prevent inj
u ry, the u se of w ork
gloves is recommended.
Before installation, check that the local distri
bu tion
conditions, nat u re of gas and press u re and
adj u stment of the appliance are compati b le.
The heater m u st b e applied and operated u nder the
general concepts of resona b le u se and installed
u sing the b est bu ilding practices.
This appliance is not intended for u se b y persons
(incl u ding children) w ith red u ced physical, sensory
or mental capa b ilities, or lack of experience and
kno w ledge, u nless they have b een given
s u pervision or instr u ction concerning u se of the
appliance b y a person responsi b le for their safety.
Children sho u ld b e s u pervised to ens u re that they
do not play w ith the appliance.

1.1 Manpower Re q uirements
To prevent personal inj u ry and damage to the
heater, t w o persons w ill b e req u ired for installation.
1.2 Safety Labels and Their Placement
Prod u ct safety signs or la b els sho u ld b e replaced b y
the prod u ct u ser w hen they are no longer legi b le.

1.3 California Proposition 65
In accordance w ith California Proposition 65
req u irements, a w arning la b el m u st b e placed in a
highly visi b le location on the o u tside of the
eq u ipment (i.e. near eq u ipment's serial plate). See
la b el placement dra w ing on Page 2, Figure 1
through Page 4, Figure 3 for la b el location. Avoid
placing la b el on areas w ith extreme heat, cold,
