SECTION 11: OPERATION AND MAINTENANCE
Read this man u al caref u lly b efore installation,
operation, or service of this eq u ipment. All
components are accessed via hinged door sec u red
b y tooled access. Opening the door exposes live
electrical connections and hot components.
11.1 Pre-Start-Up Checks
All pre-start- u p checks m u st b e carried o u t b efore
lighting the heater.
Ens u re that the heater and all controls are s u ita b le
for the gas, press u re and electrical s u pply to w hich
they are to b e connected.
11.1.1 Louvers
Where fitted, the air delivery lo u vers need to b e set
d u ring start- u p to give the req u ired air distri bu tion.
11.1.2 Electrical Checks
All pre-start- u p checks m u st b e carried o u t b efore
start- u p the heater.
1. Check that all site w iring is connected in
accordance w ith the appropriate w iring diagram
on Page 24, Section 10.5 .
11.1.3 Gas Supply
All aspects of the gas installation incl u ding the gas
meter m u st b e inspected, tested for gas tightness
and p u rged in accordance w ith local and national
codes.
Ens u re that the air is f u lly p u rged from the heater
inlet pipe u p to the main gas valve inlet test nipple.
11.1.4 Mechanical Checks
1. Check that the fan is free to r u n and
delivery lo u vers are t u rned to give req u ired
air deflection.
2. Check that the fl u e (and air intake for separated
com bu stion u nits) is installed in accordance
w ith the instr u ctions in this man u al and local
reg u lations. See Page 11, Section 7 .
