Powering Up the ML600
Powering Up the ML600
Procedure
1. Verify that all of the procedures presented in section
ML600 Installation
(on page 4)
have been completed.
2. Turn on either the AC or DC power source.
3. The ML600 starts running the cooling fan, initializes the system, and indicates system
statuses on the front panel LEDs. The duration of system initialization can take a few
minutes, providing the following events sequence:
During initial boot (about 15 seconds) all LEDs are lit for a second and then turned
off, except for the Status LED (Red), Power LED (Green) and SFP LEDs
(ACT/LNK), which are turned On (Green) for a several minutes, while Ethernet port
status is not finally discovered.
Status LED starts blinking green when initial boot is completed and software
loading/initialization starts.
When software loading/initialization is successfully completed, all system LEDs are
green except for the Alarm LED which can be red for a ML600 that is with factory
setup and not configured by dipswitches. Facility LEDs (ETH, HSL, MLP) depending
on cable availability (plugged-in) and port configuration, can be turned On or Off.
Note: For a description of front and rear panel LED indications, see “LED Description” in the
ML600 User Manual
.
Power Down Procedure
There are no special procedures for powering down the ML600 system. To power down the
system, turn off the power source or the AC power source (if equipped with AC-DC adapter).
Where to go next
Do one of the following:
For a ML600 installation using the dipswitches:
If the LED indications are as described in “Front and Rear Panel LEDs” in the
ML600
User Manual
, then no other actions are required.
Otherwise, go to Troubleshooting LED Fault Indications and then verify that the
dipswitches are correctly set, see Dipswitch Configuration.
