7 Decommissioning
1
Wait until the shielding gas post-flow time has passed and switch off the
power supply.
2
Close the shielding gas cylinder valve and switch off the cooling unit.
8 Maintenance and cleaning
8.1
Replacing wear parts, Fig. F
• The torch neck can be fitted with various wear parts depending on the
welding task at hand.
8.1.1
Shorten the tungsten electrode
The electrode type is defined in accordance with EN ISO 6848.
The maximum electrode length depends on the wear parts selected for use.
8.1.2
Grind down the tungsten electrode, Fig. E
The tungsten electrode is subject to wear and therefore it should
be ground as needed.
Use a diamond grinding wheel for this.
Note the following:
• Centric grinding to the central axis.
• Automatic drive control of the tungsten electrode through the force
of gravity.
• Can be configured for all electrode diameters.
• Stepless angle adjustment.
8.2
Clean the cable assembly and welding torch
1
Replace any damaged, deformed or worn parts.
2
Lay out the cable assembly straight.
3
At the central plug: Unscrew the nut.
4
Clean the wire conduit from both sides with compressed air.
4.3 Connecting the cable assembly, Fig. A on page EN
The following TIG welding torch parts are subject to wear and soiling,
and must be serviced and cleaned regularly:
• Torch body / gas nozzle / tungsten electrode / back cap /
electrode holder
NOTICE
• Liquid-cooled cable assemblies leak if overheated. Therefore, allow the cooling unit to continue to run approximately 5 minutes after welding.
DANGER
Risk of injury due to unexpected start
Turn off the entire system prior to assembling, disassembling or repair work performed on the device parts.
• Close all supply lines.
• Disconnect the electrical power supply.
DANGER
Electric shock due to defective cables
Dangerous voltages may be present if cables are defective or have been improperly installed. This can lead to serious injuries that could result in death.
• Check all live cables and connections for proper installation and damage and replace any damaged, deformed or worn parts.
DANGER
Risk of burns
Risk of burns from hot coolant and hot surfaces.
• Switch off the coolant recirculator before starting maintenance, servicing, assembly, disassembly or repair work.
WARNING
Risk of burns
The welding torches reach very high temperatures during welding.
• Allow the welding torches to cool down and wear the correct protective gloves.
NOTICE
• The order data and ID numbers for the equipment parts, wear parts and accessories can be found in the current ABICOR BINZEL replacement and wear
parts price lists at
www.binzel-abicor.com
.
• Use only original ABICOR BINZEL wear parts.
• Use the ABICOR BINZEL wrench to assemble and disassemble and ensure that wear parts specific to the welding torch are correctly assigned.
WARNING
Risk of injury
Serious injuries may be caused by parts swirling around.
• When cleaning the wire guide with air, wear suitable protective clothing, in particular safety goggles.
