New Protection Functions

The new voltage modules VI150 and VI155 can be connected. These modules add voltage and po-

wer based protection and supervision functions as well as energy measurement to the UMC100. 
See section 4 -> 

Voltage and Power Protection Functions

 for details.

The UMC100 now supports the internal detection of an earth fault situation without using an exter-

nal summation current transformer.

New Motor Management Functions

The number of available TOn, TOff, RS and SR function blocks had been increased. See manual 

2CDC 135 014 D02xx for more details.

The number of starts per time interval can be limited. A warning is signalled if just one start is left.

Other new Functions

The LCD panel supports up - and download of parameters or applications or both. See section 8 

for details.

The LCD panel supports Russian as an additional language

The absolute motor current is available in the function block application and can be cyclically trans-

fered to the control system for example.

The status of the fieldbus communication is available in the function block application

The motor operation hours can be set

The new UMC100 version is fully backwards compatible with the previous version 
and replaces it.

To use the new features via fieldbus new fieldbus device description files have to be 
used. Therefore updated GSD and EDS files are available on the ABB web site. See 
section A1 for details.
