7.6.2. Electrical installation checklist

1) Types and cross sections of control cables suitable for the signal type and signal 

level.

2) Types and cross sections of power cables selected according to the ABB power 

cable specification.

3) Cable entries are prepared according to the instructions in this user manual 

(3BHS600000 E40).

4) Control cable screens and conductors are connected as instructed in this user 

manual (3BHS600000 E40), labeled appropriately, and the customer side 
connections are completed.

5) Wiring across shipping splits is completed according to the instructions in this 

user manual (3BHS600000 E40).

6) Ground cable of the converter is securely connected at both ends.

7) Cable armor and screens of power supply cables are connected to the ground 

busbar.

8) All power cables plugs are mounted and connected to the converter.

9) CTs and VTs are selected and installed according ABB specification.

10) Overriding Control is prepared and tested for starting, operation & emergency 

sequences for commissioning and for full control.

11) A Communication Test with the converter controller and the overriding system 

has been successfully done (recommended to reduce the onsite commissioning 
time).

12) Turbine pitch and braking system is commissioned and is able to stop the 

generator mechanically in case of emergency at any time without the help of the 
converter.

13) Ethernet connection between the converter and Internet is done and VPN 

connection for ABB is established to give ABB the possibility to support the 
commissioning via remote.
