9. Disposal
The elements of the vacuum interrupter, such as ceramic, copper alloys and stainless steel are
environmentally friendly and even after use contain no toxic or environmentally harmful products. After the
contacts have worn away, the chambers can be disposed of without any special precautionary measures.
During rebuilding or disassembly of the apparatus, the following types of material can be disposed of separately:

Stainless steel
•
Copper and copper alloy
•
Aluminium alloy
•
Rubber (seals etc.)
•
Synthetic materials
•
Cables
•
Magnets
•
Electronic components
The disposal or recycling of the materials and components must be carried out in accordance with the locally
applicable rules and regulations.
10. Customer Service
To guarantee superior customer service, it is necessary to comply with the following directions and guidelines of
ABB Sécheron and to thereby support the observance of the quality assurance. This concerns every case of
damage or repair, without exception.
10.1. Procedure
Before shipment of the materials to be repaired, we kindly request you contact ABB Sécheron, in order to clarify
the shipment details, such as method of shipment, delivery address etc.
For efficient processing of the case, we request as accurate a notification of the cause and circumstances
of the damage as possible with the following information:
•
Manufacturing number of the apparatus
•
Order number
•
Electrical diagram, respectively drawing number with revision status and date of issue
•
Item number
•
Description of the fault with time details (brief description!)
10.2. Packaging
The customer is required to send the material in a packaging suitable for shipping, in order to prevent additional
damage due to transport.
Electronic components must be shipped in antistatic packaging, as described in the EMC regulations applicable
for these components.
