Information for the user
Your phone comes with a brief instruction manual which explains its main functions and
contains security information.
Other documents concerning the phone can be downloaded from the following web site:
www.aastra.com.
You are responsible for informing yourself about the scope of functions and the purpose of
use of the device.
• Check whether you have all user information on your phone available and make sure that
this information corresponds to the version of your phone and is up to date.
• Attentively read the user information before setting up your phone.
• Keep this information at an easily accessible place and read them if you have any doubt
concerning the handling of the device.
• When giving your phone to a third party, make sure that it is accompanied by the user
documents.
Intended use
This phone is part of the Aastra 5000 communication system and has been specifically de-
signed for operation on this system.
Aastra 5000 is an open, modular and complete communication system which includes
iPBX (referred to per system in the user documents), numerous extension cards, modules
and a complete range of system terminals, including IP system terminals. The system, in-
cluding all elements, has been designed to cover, based on a comfortable solution, all the
telecommunication requirements of companies and organisations. The system elements
have all been designed for use with each other. They must not be used for any other
purpose or replaced by third-party elements (except in case of integration via the interfaces
available for this purpose, other networks, applications and authorised terminals.
