VER. 2 REV. 1
In normal operation, the battery management module begins to disconnect loads when the battery voltage reaches 43V.
This gradual disconnection of the loads will cause small voltage increases in the battery that can be seen reflected in the
corresponding parameters of the web interface. Once all loads are disconnected, only the NCore base unit and CMD
module will be powered, so the voltage drop will be very slow. After reaching 40V, the module shuts down, as long as there
is no other power source.
The NCore allows the battery to discharge to and no more than 40V, to prevent over discharge and possible damage.
The battery is considered valid up to the minimum voltage threshold, after which the battery power is turned off.
In order not to damage the batteries, the software tries to avoid the complete discharge of the battery and in case of
excessive discharge, it disconnects it directly.
Here are some simple calculations to determine some essential battery parameters:
Nominal output current
Sufficient to allow the supply of all essential loads
𝐼 =
[𝑇𝑜𝑡𝑎𝑙 𝑐𝑜𝑛𝑠𝑢𝑚𝑝𝑡𝑖𝑜𝑛 𝑖𝑛 𝑊𝑎𝑡𝑡𝑠]
[𝐵𝑎𝑡𝑡𝑒𝑟𝑦 𝑣𝑜𝑙𝑡𝑎𝑔𝑒]
ATTENTION: Check that the battery can take the maximum load current.
Wire section
For the connection to the battery, we recommend a sufficient wire section to allow powering all loads without significant
voltage drops. Therefore, precautionary reference sections are given, considering the maximum installable power and
considering a negligible over-temperature:

Lower wire sections can be used, taking into account possible heating of the wire.
ATTENTION: Pay close attention to the correct polarity of the battery connector when connected.
Battery charge
Choose the battery charge, depending on the required autonomy, using the following formula:
𝐴ℎ =
[𝑇𝑜𝑡𝑎𝑙 𝑐𝑜𝑛𝑠𝑢𝑚𝑝𝑡𝑖𝑜𝑛 𝑖𝑛 𝑊𝑎𝑡𝑡] ∗ [𝐻𝑜𝑢𝑟𝑠 𝑟𝑎𝑛𝑔𝑒 𝑟𝑒𝑞𝑢𝑖𝑟𝑒𝑑] ∗ [2: 𝐿𝑒𝑎𝑑, 1.2: 𝐿𝑖𝑡ℎ𝑖𝑢𝑚]
[𝐵𝑎𝑡𝑡𝑒𝑟𝑦 𝑣𝑜𝑙𝑡𝑎𝑔𝑒]
