MAINTENANCE
Maintenance must only be performed by trained and authorized personnel in
accordance with the applicable
Specialist Level Maintenance Manual
available
from SCOTT.
CLEANING
After use, wipe off any surface dirt or debris with a damp cloth. DO NOT
USE BLEACH OR HARSH INDUSTRIAL DETERGENTS. DO NOT SOAK OR
IMMERSE THE SELF-RESCUE ACCESSORY.
Lay the equipment out flat on a table INDOORS at room temperature to dry. DO
NOT DRY USING A CLOTHES DRYER, A HAND HELD DRYER, OR DIRECT
SUNLIGHT.

DECONTAMINATION
When the Fire Fighter Self-Rescue Accessory has become contaminated and
requires decontamination, refer to the
Specialist Level Maintenance Manual
for details of how to disassemble, clean, and reassemble the Self-Rescue
Accessory. Decontaminate the rest of the accessory and the respirator accord-
ing to standard decontamination procedures. It may be necessary to remove
the escape rope and dispose of it according to state or federal requirements.
STORAGE
Store the respirator according to the STORAGE instructions provided with the
complete respirator. Before storage, verify that the equipment is clean and
dry, properly assembled, and ready to use according to the procedures of your
respiratory protection program.

FIRE FIGHTER SELF-RESCUE ACCESSORY MAY
RESULT IN DAMAGE OF THE COMPONENTS

EQUIPMENT IN AN EMERGENCY WHICH COULD
RESULT IN SERIOUS INJURY OR DEATH.
