5-1-1. How to Replace the Mirror Assembly
Caution
!
Do not remove the protective film until the Mirror
is installed. This is a front-surface mirror and
should not be touched.
Caution
!
Be careful not to damage the inside of the lens
while installing the mirror.
1. Remove retaining screw from head cover.
Figure 5-2.
2. Lift up at back of head cover (A) and slide
forward (B).
3. Spread cover (C) to free it from the lens bracket.
4. Lift head cover (D) over mirror to remove it and
expose the projection mirror and lens bracket.

5. Remove mirror retaining screws, clip and plastic
washer on each side to free the mirror from the
lens bracket. Figure 5-1.
6. Reassemble in reverse order.
Note
When attaching the new mirror, remember to
place the plastic washer between the lens
bracket and clip. Apply 4-5 in.-lbs. of torque
to mirror retaining screws.
7. Remove protective film from the Mirror.
5-1-2. How to Replace the Triplet Lens
1. Remove head cover and mirror assembly. See
Section 5-1-1.
Caution
!
Be careful not to scratch the mirror while
installing the triplet lens.
2. Unscrew three lens retaining screws to free lens.

3. Lift lens upward to remove from lens bracket.
4. Reassemble in reverse order.
