were not present at the previous station. This count helps to
identify the location on a ring where these errors may be
originating.
Internal Errors -
This is the count of the number of internal errors
recognized by the station. Internal errors are recoverable, but
indicate that a station is in a marginal operating condition.
Burst Errors -
This is the count of the number of burst errors detected
by the station. The token ring receiver should observe continuous
signal transitions at its input. If it fails to do so, a burst error is
counted.
Monitor Errors -
This is the count of the number of times that the
station received an incorrect response during an active monitor
poll. This could indicate an error on the ring but may be the result
of a reconfiguration due to any station being removed from the
ring.
Lost Frames -
This is the count of the number of frames that were
sent by the station and did not return. In normal operation, frames
sent by a station pass all the way around the ring back to the
sending station which is responsible for removing the frames from
the ring.
Location -
This is the Physical Location Number that MAY have been
set for the station via a ring parameter server or from LAN Net
Manager. It has no special use other than that specified by the user.
If it has not been set, the value returned will be 0.
Frame Copy Errors -
This is the count of the number of times that a
station sees a frame addressed to itself but which appears to have
already been recognized by a preceding station. This could be an
indication of two stations on the ring with the same address.
Receive Congestion -
This is the count of the number of frames that
were addressed to the station but it was unable to copy due to lack
of internal resource. This could be because the station was too busy
or it did not have enough memory available.
