Important Considerations

■

All areas of an OSPF routing domain must connect to the backbone 
area. In cases where an area border router does not have direct, 
physical access to the backbone, you must configure a virtual link to 
act as a logical link to the backbone area.

■

You can define up to 32 virtual links per router.
