Managing Licenses in the Management Console
You can monitor the status of licenses and configure various licensing options using the
Management Console.
To view licensing data, select
License Manager
from the Tools menu. The License Summary
window appears displaying the following information:
If you click
Details
in the License Summary window, the Activation Key Details window
appears. This window displays the following license information:
You can also configure the system to issue a warning message if the number of valid device
licenses falls below a specified number. To set up warnings, click
Options
in the License
Summary window. You can configure a warning to appear when the number of available
desktop or server NIC licenses falls below a number specified in the appropriate fields.
Licensing Data
Displays
Type
The type of licenses in your system (Policy Server, desktop NIC, and server NIC).
Activated
The number of valid licenses for each type that have been added to the system in
this domain. If the system accepted the entry of an activation key, it is valid unless
it has expired.
Used
The number of licenses that have been used by Policy Servers or registering
devices in this domain.
Available
The number of licenses for each type that are currently not used.
Expires
An expiration date, if any. This date is when all licenses of this type expire.
Key Details
Displays
Date
The date the activation keys were added.
Version
The version number of the activation key.
Type
The type of license.
Quantity
The number of entities this activation key represents (for example, 3 server NICs,
2 Policy Servers).
Available
The number of licenses that are currently available.
Eval
Whether or not the licenses are evaluation licenses.
Yes
indicates that they are
evaluation licenses.
No
indicates that they are regular licenses.
Activation Key
The raw activation key for the licenses.
Status
One of two statuses:
Expired
: Indicates that the activation key has expired.
Activated
: Indicates that the activation key is valid (that is, it has not expired).
