Alarm
Definition
Loss of signal alarm
(LOS)
Cannot detect a signal at a configured port.
Applicable to DS3, E3, OC3, DS1/E1 IMA UNI
Out of frame alarm
(OOF)
AIS alarm is detected. The configuration settings on the port are not
correct for the line or the port configuration is correct but the line is
experiencing errors that result in an alarm.
Alarm Indication Signal
(AIS)
An incoming alarm indication signal (AIS) indicates a LOS problem is
occurring on the line upstream of the equipment connected to this
port.
Idle signal
The idle signal indicates that the line has not been provisioned for
service. No data will pass on a line with an idle signal.
Far end receive failure
The far-end equipment has a problem with the signal it is receiving
from the PathBuilder device.
Loss of Cell Delineation
(LOCD)
Loss of cell delineation – possibly framing or timing problem.
No Upload Image Found Cannot find card image to upload
Card Reconfigured
Card is reconfigured
Invalid DB Cardtype
An unknown card type is found in database
Card Reconfig Failed
Reconfiguration of the card failed
Cardtype mismatched
The card type of a card slot in database does not match the card
type of the same card slot in the shelf
New Card Configured
Configuration data for a new card is uploaded
Card Config Failed
Cannot upload configuration data to a card
Cardtype Invalid
An unknown card type is detected in a card slot
A card is removed from
a card slot
Card is removed from the MCPU database.
Left PWR Supply Absent Cannot find left power supply
Rt PWR Supply Absent
Cannot find right power supply
Left power supply failed Left power supply failed
Right power supply
failed
Right power supply failed
Relay power fuse failed
Fuse for external alarm relay is blown, preventing external alarms
from being generated.
Communication failed
Error during communication between MCPU and a slot.

Fan #1 failed

Fan #3 failed
Fan #4 failed
Fan #4 failed
FEAC loopback
A DS3 overhead function that allows the system to be enabled or
disabled for responding to Far End Alarm Condition commands
from the central office. When enabled, the DS3 line loopback is put
up upon instruction from the central office. The system removes the
loopback upon instruction or after 15 minutes.
Network line loopback
A loopback is turned on.
Loopbacks are for troubleshooting only and should not be present
under normal operating conditions.
