11.5 MAC Filter Screen
The MAC filter screen allows you to configure the NBG6716 to give exclusive access to devices
(
Allow
) or exclude devices from accessing the NBG6716 (
Deny
). Every Ethernet device has a
unique MAC (Media Access Control) address. The MAC address is assigned at the factory and
consists of six pairs of hexadecimal characters, for example, 00:A0:C5:00:00:02. You need to know
the MAC address of the devices to configure this screen.
To change your NBG6716’s MAC filter settings, click

. The screen appears as shown.

for Guest
WLAN
Select this to turn on bandwidth management for the Guest WLAN network.
Maximum
Bandwidth
Enter a number to specify maximum bandwidth the Guest WLAN network can use.
Security Mode
Select
Static WEP
,
WPA-PSK
,
WPA
,
WPA2-PSK
or
WPA2
to add security on this
wireless network. The wireless clients which want to associate to this network must have
same wireless security settings as this device. After you select to use a security, additional
options appears in this screen. See
for detailed information on
different security modes. Or you can select
No Security
to allow any client to associate
this network without authentication.
Note: If the WPS function is enabled (default), only
No Security
and
WPA2-PSK
are
available in this field.
Apply
Click
Apply
to save your changes back to the NBG6716.
Cancel
Click
Cancel
to reload the previous configuration for this screen.
