Avoid serious injuries or death in twilight or at night
N O T E
We generally recommend riding with your lights on even during
the day.
Riding with lights is crucial
in twilight or at night!
Riding in twilight or at night is more dangerous than during the day. A cyclist is very difficult to recog-
nise for other road users and this can result in serious injuries or even death.
-
Avoid riding in twilight or at night, if possible.
-
Always ride slowly.
-
Always ride with bike lights and reflectors.
-
Always avoid dark areas and areas with heavy or fast traffic.
-
Always avoid road obstacles.
-
Ride on familiar routes, if possible.
Avoid serious injuries or death caused by damaged, bent or loose reflectors and lights
Bike reflectors catch the light from street lamps and car headlights and reflect it so that you can be
recognised as a cyclist. Damaged, bent or loose reflectors can result in you being poorly recognised
by other road users. This may cause serious injuries or even death.
-
Check your reflectors and their secure attachment at regular intervals.
-
Have damaged, bent or loose reflectors replaced by your dealer.
Avoid serious injuries caused by riding off-road or over kerbs
C A U T I O N
Risk of falling when riding on uneven terrain!
Riding off-road or over kerbs at inappropriate speeds can cause you to fall. This may cause serious
injury or even death.
-
Always ride at a speed appropriate to the riding conditions.
