Precautions to avoid possible exposure to microwave energy

 Do not attempt to operate the microwave oven with the door open since this can result 

in harmful exposure to microwave energy. It is strictly forbidden to break or tamper with the 

safety interlocks.

 Do not place any objects between the microwave oven front face and the door or allow 

soil or cleaner residue to accumulate on the sealing surfaces.

 Do not operate the microwave oven if it is damaged. It is particularly important that the 

oven door close properly and there is no visible damage:

hinges and latches (no cracks or loosening),

 

door seals and sealing surfaces, or

 

“warping”.

 The oven can be adjusted or repaired only by qualiied service personnel.

Important safety instructions

When  using  electrical  appliances,  observe  basic  safety  precautions.  In  order  to  reduce 

the risk of burns, electric shock, ire, injury or exposure to microwave energy, observe the 

following rules: 

Microwave heating of beverages can result in delayed eruptive boiling, therefore take 

 

care when handling the container. Do not fry foods in the oven. Hot oil may damage 

the oven parts or accessories and even cause skin burns.

Do not heat eggs in the shell and whole hard-boiled eggs in the microwave oven as 

 

they may explode – even after microwave heating has ended. 

When  the  oven  is  turned  on  do  not  touch  its  accessible  parts. Their 

 

temperature may be high – risk of burns.

Stir  and  shake  the  content  of  feeding  bottles  and  baby  food  jars.  Check  the 

 

temperature before consumption in order to avoid burns.

Kitchen utensils may become hot due to heat transmission from the heated food. Use 

 

appropriate handles.

Microwave oven maintenance and repair work which involves removing the protective 

 

cover against exposure to microwave energy is dangerous, therefore it must only be 

performed by a qualiied person.

Children  above  8  years  old,  persons  with  impaired  physical,  sensory  or  mental 

 

abilities, and those with lack of experience or knowledge may only use the appliance 

under supervision or after they have been given instructions on possible hazards and 

how to safely use the appliance. Prevent children from playing with the appliance. 

Children above 8 years old may be allowed to clean the appliance and to perform 

maintenance work under proper supervision only.

Do not remove the mica cover inside the microwave oven cavity! It protects against 

 

radiation.

Risk of property damage

The microwave oven is designed to be used as a standalone unit and it should not 

 

be placed in a cupboard.

Connect  the  microwave  oven  only  to  a  230  V  alternating  current  mains  socket 

 

equipped with a grounding prong.

Do not operate the microwave oven when it is empty. 

 

In order to reduce the risk of ire inside the microwave oven:

 

when heating food in a plastic or paper container, keep an eye on the microwave 

 

oven due to the possibility of ignition,

remove all wire twist-ties from paper or plastic containers/ bags before placing 

 

them in the microwave oven,

if smoke is observed, switch off or unplug the appliance. Do not open the door in 

 

order to stile any lames,

do  not  leave  paper  products,  dishes  and  kitchen  utensils  or  food  inside  the 

 

microwave oven when it is not in use.

When the appliance is operating the temperature of external surfaces may be high. 

 

The power cord should be kept away from heated surfaces and it must not obstruct 

any elements of the microwave oven.

During  use,  the  appliance  becomes  hot.  Care  should  be  taken  to  avoid  touching 

 

heating elements inside the microwave oven.

It is forbidden to use a steam cleaner to clean the appliance.

 

This  appliance  is  not  intended  to  be  operated  by  means  of  an  external  timer  or 

 

separate remote-control system.

It is strictly forbidden to remove the foil located on the inner side of the door. This may 

 

cause damage to the appliance.

Tips and information about the product and its use

The microwave oven is intended for household use only.

 

Prick  food  covered  with  thick  skin  such  as  potatoes,  whole  marrows,  apples  and 

 

chestnuts before cooking.

Do not overcook food.

 

Check to make sure that the utensils are suitable for use in the microwave oven 

 

before using them.

Do not use the microwave oven for storing any objects, such as bread, cakes, etc.

Risk of injury

Use the appliance for its intended purpose only as described in this user manual. 

 

Do not use corrosive chemicals or vapours in the appliance. This type of microwave 

oven is speciically designed for heating, cooking and drying food. It is not designed 

for industrial or laboratory purposes.

Never operate the microwave oven if it has a damaged power cord or plug, or if it is 

 

not working properly or if it has been dropped or otherwise damaged.

If  the  non-detachable  power  cord  is  damaged,  it  should  be  replaced  by  the 

 

manufacturer or at a specialist service centre or by a qualiied person in order to 

avoid any hazards.

The appliance may only be repaired by qualiied service personnel. Improper repair 

 

may result in a serious hazard to the user. In case of defects we suggest that you 

contact a ZELMER specialist service centre.

When the oven door or its sealing is damaged, the oven may not be operated until it 

 

has been repaired by a qualiied person.

Liquids and other foods must not be heated in tightly closed containers since this 

 

may result in their explosion.

Installation

1

 Make sure all the packaging materials have been removed from the inside of the oven.

 Remove the protective ilm from the control panel and housing of the microwave oven.

 

  Check for damage such as the curved or warped door, damaged door seals 

and sealing surfaces, broken or loosened hinges or latches, dents inside 

the microwave oven or on the door. 

 

  In case of any damage do not operate the appliance and contact qualiied 

service personnel.

 Place the microwave oven on an even and stable surface that is strong enough to 

support the oven and the heaviest foods you intend to place in it.

 Do not expose the microwave oven to humidity. Do not place the microwave oven near 

lammable materials as well as above or close to heat-generating appliances.
