7. Emergency Towing
It is suggested to schedule vehicle towing only by
a qualified towing service organization.
If the tire or axle is damaged, use a bogie for
towing.
Towing with front wheel touchdown
A bogie is recommended. If not used, put the
selector lever into neutral (N) position and
ignition switch to “ACC” position.
Towing with rear wheel touchdown
Release parking brake.
WARNING!
When towing with both wheels touchdown,
no person should ride in the vehicle.
Precautions for using the draw ring:
·•Make sure the draw ring is secure.
·•Tie towing cable to draw ring firmly.
·•Never pull draw ring violently.
Tow with the draw ring in a generally
forward direction. Do not use the draw ring
from sides or vertically.
Use the Hazzard Signals when towing the
vehicle.
Remark:
While towing, if necessary, softly depress the
brake so as to ensure that towing cable is tense
all the time.
If the towing cable is loose, the cable could be
jerked when towing vehicle accelerates, causing
the cable itself to break.
8. Anchoring
If the vehicle becomes stuck in sand, mud or
snow, please contact a service technician or a
towing service immediately.
Towing trailing
If it is impossible to start the vehicle, attach a
towing cable to the draw ring (draw ring is under
the front bumper as shown below).
Execute towing as follows:
•Release parking brake
•Ignition switch should be in “ACC” position.
NOTE
Only use this type of towing when wheels,
axles, drive system and brake system are in
good order.
The driver must be in the vehicle to control
the direction and brake.
Only use the draw ring when towing on
paved surfaces.
