Specific Conditions of Use:
– Precautions shall be taken to minimize the risk from electrostatic discharge of
nonmetallic parts. When the equipment is used in hazardous locations, avoid any
actions which generate electrostatic charges, such as rubbing with a dry cloth.
– The connector on the enclosure contains aluminum and is considered a potential risk
of ignition caused by impact or friction. When the equipment is used in Zone 0, it
must be installed such that, even in the event of rare incidents, ignition sources due
to impact and/or friction sparks are excluded.
– Rigid type conduit shall not be used as the wiring method.
Notes:
1. As allowable connection values of an Intrinsically Safe Apparatus (2) or an
Associated Apparatus (2), the following conditions of (a) or (b) must be satisfied.

4. (For US ) Installation must be in accordance with the National Electric Code
(NFPA70), ANSI/ISA-RP12.06.01, and relevant local codes.
5. (For Canada) Installation must be in accordance with the Canadian Electrical
Code Part I (C22.1), ANSI/ISA RP12.06.01, and relevant local codes.
6. (For US) IS Apparatus (or Associated Apparatus) must be FM approved.
7. Control equipment connected to IS Apparatus (or Associated Apparatus) must not use or
generate a voltage more than Um of the control equipment.
8. The equipment satisfies the requirements for IP66 and Type 4X only when it is
connected to a connector JR13WPI-5P (Hirose Electric) and tightened with a
torque of 1.2-2.0 N
·
m. Appropriate type of plug must be used in accordance with
the instructions.
9. Models FN310-xx-J03, FN310-xx-J04, and FN310-xx-J05 satisfy the requirement
for IP66 and Type 4X only when they are connected to equipment, using a clamp
and an adaptor, and tightened with a torque of 4.8-5.3 N·m.
10. The control drawing of IS Apparatus (or Associated Apparatus) must be followed
when installing the equipment.
