COOLING SYSTEM (500)
Coolant replacement

The coolant should be changed at least every
season.

1. Place the machine on a level surface.

2. Remove:

Muffler

1

Exhaust pipe

2

3. Make sure that the carburetor heating lever

1

is turned to “ON”

a

.

4. Remove:

Coolant filler cap

1

Do not remove the coolant filler cap

1

when

the engine is hot. Scalding hot fluid and
steam may be blown out under pressure,
which could cause serious injury. When the
engine has cooled, place a thick rag or a
towel over the coolant filler cap.
Slowly rotate the cap counterclockwise to
the detent. This allows any residual pres-
sure to escape. When the hissing sound has
stopped, press down on the cap while turn-
ing counterclockwise and remove it.
