Remove the blowby hose “1”, the fuel hos-
es “2”, and the fuel filter assembly “3”.
b.
Remove all the spark plug caps “4” from
the spark plugs.
c.
Disconnect the ignition coil couplers “a”,
and then remove the ignition coils “5”.
d.
Remove the clamps “b” from the cylinder
head cover “6”, and then remove the cylin-
der head cover “6”.
e.
Turn the flywheel magneto clockwise and
align the “1

” mark “a” on the driven
sprocket “1” with the “
△
” mark “b” on the
cylinder head.
f.
Measure each valve clearance “a” and “b”
following the step g–k.

Write down the measurement data.

0.15–0.25 mm (0.0059–0.0098
in)
Valve clearance EX (cold engine)
0.25–0.35 mm (0.0098–0.0138
