CRANKSHAFT ASSEMBLY
1. Make sure that the end gap of each piston
ring is positioned, as shown in the illustra-
tion.
2. Install:
• Piston ring compressor

• Connecting rod

• Piston

NOTE:
• Make sure that the “ ” mark

on the pis-
ton head faces toward the push rod.
• Make sure that the “ YAMAHA ” mark

on
the connecting rod faces toward the crank-
case cover.

4. Install:
• Crankshaft
• Connecting rod cap
NOTE:
Make sure that the “ ” mark

on the con-
necting rod is aligned with the “ ” mark

on
the rod cap.
5. Install:
• Camshaft
• Crankcase cover
