5.5.2 Battery Connection
One battery will protect the contents of SRAM memory. A second battery will provide additional
security as on-board circuitry automatically selects the battery with the highest voltage as the source for
backup current. External batteries are connected at J4 (BAT1) and J5 (BAT2). Table 5-17 summarizes
the function of each pin in connectors J4 and J5. I f SRAMs on the module unit are to be made non-
volatile with the batteries, see Section 5.4.2.
