Troubleshooting: Embedded Fax
If you are experiencing problems with Embedded Fax, first verify that the machine is functioning in its
existing configuration by making a photocopy at the machine.
Is the machine functioning?
Resolve any mechanical issues before attempting to use Embedded Fax. For assistance and support,
refer to the www.xerox.com web site.
Note: Server Fax and Embedded Fax are mutually exclusive services. If one is enabled, the other will not
function. Perform the steps immediately below, to check which service is enabled.
Ensure Embedded Fax is Installed Properly.
At Your Work Station
1.
Open your web browser and enter the TCP/IP address of the machine. Press [Enter].

Click the [Properties] tab.
3.
Enter the Administrator User name and Password if prompted. The default is [admin] and [1111].
Press [Login].

Select [Services].
5.
Select [Service Registration].
6.
Select the Fax check box to enable.
7.
Select [Apply]. Ensure that the machine has been configured with the correct fax (telephone)
number.
At the Machine
1.
Select [Services], or [All Services]
2.
Check to see if the Fax option is now available.
Verify that all Fax Setting configuration steps have been performed. These steps can be found in the
Embedded Fax topic of the Options section of this guide.
The fault requires further investigation.
