face-up tray
1. Tried to print and stack thick paper in
the face-up tray.
2. Tried to print and stack thin paper in
the face-up tray.
1. When using thick paper such as envelope,
card stock, label and transparencies, one-sheet
printing is recommended.
2. Face-down tray is recommended for thin
paper.
Jam 2 at
face-down
tray
1. Face down tray is full.
2. Paper curls in the face down tray.
1. Empty the face down tray.
2. Open the cover front and check that the roller
and spring, are correctly located.
Clutch error
1. Check the solenoid spring.
2. Check the armature assembly/cush-
ion
3. Check the harness and connectors
to the clutch.
1. Check whether the spring is expanded or not.
2. Check for the correct assembly of the arma-
ture.
3. Install new parts as necessary.
High volt-
age error
1. Check the terminal output voltage
2. Check HVPS
1. Remove the toner cartridge, open the cover
and press cover open switch lever. Measure the
voltage with high voltage probe during print
cycle. If the voltage is normal, install a new toner
cartridge.
2. Disassemble the left side cover, and check
HV of the solder side of HVPS, if necessary,
install a new HVPS.
Feeding
obstacles
1. Check for paper path obstructions.
2. Does the plate-knock-up prevent
paper feeding.
1. Clear obstructions from the paper path.
2. Turn the power off and on. Open and close
the Top cover to return to the original state.
Skew
Is the width guide adjusted to the paper
width?
Correctly adjust the width guide.
Stacking
1. Took out the Stacker extender to
support long papers?
2. Too much paper in the stacker
3. Face-up stacker does not neatly
stack the papers and stack not in order.
1. Use extender as per the paper length.
2. The Face-up stacker normally can hold 100
pages when using 75gsm, however, stacking
capacity will be lower with thicker paper.
3. Face-down stacking is recommended for spe-
cific papers and one-sheet feed.
Engine Error 1. Check CBF Harness (Main PBA to
LSU), CN7 on WCP421, CN1 on F12.
Refer to troubleshooting “ENGINE ERROR”.
Document
jam
Document is not picked up in ADF
1. Check document is correctly stacked in ADF
2. Check and remove any staples or clips from
the documents
3. Do not exceed recommended quantity of doc-
uments
Document has stopped after it has fed
into the ADF
1. Check the operation of the Reg. sensor
2. Check the operation of the Feed Roller
Does the document curl upon exit
1. Check the document path in the ADF
2. Check the ADF is correctly assembled
