As much as possible, use originals printed with darker
colored text (black or dark-blue). Yellow, orange and
green are not suitable.

Do not place any documents in your machine
that …
… are wet, that have been edited with correction fluid,
that are soiled or that have a coated surface. Do not
place foils or endless papers into your machine as
documents.
… that are written on with a soft pencil, with paint,
chalk or charcoal.
… that you have taken from newspapers or magazines
(printer’s ink smudges!).
… that are held together with office or notebook staples
or with tape or glue. Place into your machine only
single sheets without paper clips or adhesive binding
of any sort.
… that are pasted with note papers.
… that are too thick or too thin (card stock or tissue
paper).
… that are creased, crumpled or torn
Use documents of sizes
A4
(8.3 × 11.7 inches,
210 × 297 mm),
letter
(8.5 × 11 inches, 216 × 279 mm)
or
legal

that are smaller than A4. You can put in up to
20 docu-
ments
at a time.
Inserting Documents

Separate the documents by fanning them
out, then align them by tapping the edge
of the stack gently against a flat surface. is will
prevent several sheets of paper from being drawn
in all at once.

Insert the document face down into the document
input tray. e lower most document is sent first.

Push the document guide inwards, so that it lies level
on the documents.
Press
STOP
to eject the document without sending it.
Sending a Fax

Dial the desired fax number. You can enter a number
with the number pad, or you can select an entry from
the telephone book, the redial list or the caller list:
Manual entry:
Enter the number using the num-
ber pad.
