Before startup
Check that the mains voltage and
mains frequency correspond to the
voltage and frequency specified on the
machine rating plate.
Collets
The shank diameter of the tool must
precisely match the clamping bore
diameter of the collet
[1]
!
Collets
[1]
are available for different shank diam-
eters. See chapter Accessories.
Inserting the tools
Remove the mains plug from the
socket!
Use only tools suitable for the idle
speed of your machine! See Technical
data.
The maximum permissible open shank
length of grinding pencils specified by
the manufacturer must not be
exceeded!
■
Insert the tool into the collet
[1]
with the whole
length of the shank.
■
Counter-hold the spindle (for Item 0702 520 x
with the 13 mm open-jaw wrench supplied. For
0702 521 x by pressing the spindle lock
[4]
).
■
Tighten the collet nut
[2]
using the 19 mm open-
jaw wrench.
If no tool is inserted into the collet,
screw on the collet only by hand and
do not tighten using the wrench!
Operation
Switching on/off
Switch on the device first, then move
the accessory towards the workpiece.
Avoid unintentional starting: Always
switch off the machine.
In continuous operation, the machine
continues running if it is forced out of
your hands. For this reason, always
hold the machine with both hands
using the handles
[6]
provided, stand
in a stable position and concentrate on
the work in hand.
■
Switching on:
Push the ON/OFF switch
[5]
forwards. For continuous operation, tilt it down-
wards until it engages.
■
Switching off:
Press on the rear end of the
ON/OFF switch
[5]
and release.
Setting the speed
The speed can be preset and infinitely varied at set
-
ting wheel
[7 ]
. For speeds, see Technical data.
Working instructions
Grinding, sanding, working with wire
brushes, polishing:
■
Apply moderate pressure and move the tool
back and forth across the surface being ma-
chined.
■
Milling: Apply moderate pressure
■
Abrasive cut-off operations: Always work in
up-cut mode during abrasive cut-off operations.
Otherwise there is a risk of the machine jumping
uncontrolled out of the cut. Work with a mod-
erate infeed rate appropriate to the material
being machined. Do not tilt, press or oscillate
the power tool.
