17 Maintenance and cleaning

Set up the photometer again and connect it to the
mains
→
Switch on the photometer (open the cover)
→
Perform a zero adjustment (see chapter
→
Switch off the photometer (close the cover) and
disconnect it from the mains
→
Let the liquid drain off into a suitable vessel. Dis-
pose of the liquid properly according to the instruc-
tions of the reagent package
→
Carefully remove glass rests, e.
g. using tweezers,
and dispose of them with the household refuse
→
Carefully clean the cell shaft with a damp, lint-free
cloth
→
Let the cell shaft dry
→
Perform a photometer monitoring (see section
9.2).
→
Keep the photometer free of dust and dirt as possi-
ble
→
Clean the housing surfaces with a soft, damp cloth
and aqueous soap solution
→
Do not use any cleaning detergents that contain
solvents
→
Follow the safety instructions when performing cle-
aning activities!
Caution
Do not rotate the photometer to pour out
the liquid! The liquid shall not come into
contact with electronic components. The
photometer has a draining mechanism un-
der the cell shaft that, when operated cor-
rectly, prevents this contact.
Warning
The safety instructions and instructions for
protective measures when dealing with
chemicals on the package of the coded cell
tests and reagent test sets must be follo-
wed!
After it is dry, check the photometer:
