1. Disconnect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery
Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection .
2. Remove the transmission fl uid level indicator.
3. Raise and suitably support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting

4. Remove the engine protection shield bolts and shield.
5. Remove the starter motor bolts and position the starter
motor aside.
6. Drain the transmission fl uid, if necessary.
7. Remove the propeller shaft. Refer to Propeller Shaft
Replacement.
