6.4 Troubleshooting
In order to remedy occurring malfunctions of the UV-unit, please proceed according to table 20.
6.4.1 Confirming/Quitting the service life monitoring (reserve mode)
In order to quit the malfunction message of the service life monitoring, you must turn on the water 5 times by
opening and closing the fitting. In detail this looks as follows:
•
Open the tap for approx. 1 second (the
UV-unit
gives an acoustic signal)
•
Close the tap for approx. 1 second
Repeat the process 5 times in total (within 15 seconds!)
After successful quitting the malfunction message you are in reserve mode. The signal LED now flashes red/green
alternately (in standby as well as in operation mode). Starting from now you can still use the
UV-unit
for maximum
100 hours (time of water extraction). After this time the life end of the UV-unit is reached and it must be disposed
of accordingly.
Malfunction message
Possible causes
Troubleshooting
Temperature error
1. Water temperature too
high and/or flow rate too low
2. No water in tank/pipes
1. Check water temperature, if necessary eliminate the
water, or provide for a higher flow rate.
2. Fill tank/pipes with water (see also
chapter
Technical data (p.39)).
Internal power
failure
Defective product,
service life reached,
or insufficient power
supply
1. Check the electrical connections and the power supply
(
Chapter Electrical connection (p.49))
2. Interrupt the power supply to the UV-unit or remove
the fuse for approx. 10sec. Pay attention to the signal
LED when the power supply is renewed.
a. The signal LED lights up red = service life reached:
disassemble the UV-unit, return it to dealer/manufac-
turer or dispose of it (
chapter Disposal (p.56))
b. The signal LED flashes green (standby mode) and
lights up red again at the next operating mode = defec-
tive: disassemble UV-unit, return it to dealer/manufac-
turer or dispose of it (
chapter Disposal (p.56))
External power
failure
Power supply error (only
with signal supply by pump)
Check the electrical connections and the power supply
(
Chapter Electrical connection (p.49))
Service life monito-
ring/reserve mode
4900 operating hours
reached
Confirm/ Quit the malfunction message (see
chapter
Conforming/Quitting the service life monitoring (reserve
mode) (p.54))
No function/no LED
signal
1. No power supply available
or faulty connection
2. Defective product
1. Check the electrical connections (
chapter Installation
and commissioning (p.44))
2. Disassemble the UV-unit, eventually send it to the dea-
ler/manufacturer or dispose of it (
chapter Disposal (p.56))
Leakage (leaks)
1. Defective product
2. Leaky water pipes/
water connections
1. Disassemble the UV-unit, send it to the dealer/
manufacturer
2. Check the installation of water pipes/connections
(
chapter Installation and commissioning (p.44))
