TEST PROCESS – OPERATION GUIDE
READING THE CURRENT DAILY PRESSURE LEVEL (QFE) –
LOCALISED PRESSURE - ALTIMETER TO -0-
Turn the Relief Valve to the left and open it completely – until you hear it click.
Main switch (2) on
Switch the display device (1) on
Select the unit „mb“ and read the QFE level – by switching to the respective units „me-
ters“ or „feet“, you can read the current altitude.
Note these values for subsequent entry to the log.
Turn the Relief Valve to the right until you hear it click.
Please note:
The testing case and the display device can remain switched on
CONNECTING THE AIRCRAFT SYSTEMS
Have the corresponding static port and impact-pressure connector adapter for the
respective system in accordance with either the aircraft manufacturer or the test-probe
manufacturer.
Check the charge status of the testing case.
Check the static port and the impact-pressure connector.
Determine the length of the connection line.
Mask several of the static ports – only the connected port may be open to enable the
static test.
Check the installed instruments to ensure that they are connected properly (by sight
check).
Choose a safe location for the test case.
Connect the static-pressure and / or the impact-pressure connector according to the
Connect the wiring diagram after the test process. (T-fitting between static and impact
pressure)
Neutralize the pressure in tube system for approx. 5 minutes. The hose
line(s) should be no longer touched or moved, otherwise impends an
incorrect read-out in leak test.
Set all controllers to Minimum or to 0; turn them to the right (clockwise) until you hear
the click
Pump switch to „off“ – pressed at the top
Warning:
For static tests on the system when the air-speed indicator is connected, both connec-
tors (the static port and the impact-pressure port) must be connected to the vacuum
connector (test port). When „pull“ is not applied simultaneously to the air-speed indicator
connectors, the membranes (the pressure sensor) will be damaged.
All other devices connected to the pressurised side (measuring pressure or impact pres-
sure connected with – for instance – only one connector) must be disconnected from the
system prior to the test, and the system must be closed off at the disconnect points.
Please note:
During the test, „pull“ will be applied to the housing and the pressure sensor (membrane),
and an equilibrium is created.
LEAK TEST FOR THE PITOT STATIC INSTALLATIONS
1. Test:
Set all controllers (Control Valve, Relief Valve, Vacuum und Pressure) to „Minimum“
or to „0“ – Pump switch to „off“ – pressed at the top
2. Main switch (2) - to ON – if not already switched on from Item ?
3. Display device (1) - to ON – if not already switched on from Item ?
4. Setting the display units (see Meriam operation guide), comparing the
measured values.
