Personnel qualifications

Personnel have been instructed on locally applicable regulations governing accident
prevention.
ƒ
Personnel have read and understood the installation and operating instructions.
ƒ
Electrical work: qualified electrician
Person with appropriate technical training, knowledge and experience who can
identify and prevent electrical hazards.
ƒ
Installation/dismantling work: qualified fire protection specialist according to the
state of the art (EN 12845)
Correct installation and connection of the system to the supply line
ƒ
Operation/control: Operating personnel, trained in the functioning of the complete
system
ƒ
Setting/operating the switchgear: specialised linguistic knowledge in the areas of
fire protection and motor technology.

2.3
Electrical work
ƒ
Have electrical work carried out by a qualified electrician.
ƒ
Establish power connections according to local fire protection regulations.
ƒ
Earth the system.
ƒ
Before beginning work on the system, disconnect the system from the mains and
secure it against being activated again without authorisation.
WARNING! Systems with diesel motors have batteries. Also disconnect batteries!
ƒ
Train personnel on how to make electrical connections.
ƒ
Train personnel on the options for switching off the system.

Transport
ƒ
Wear the following protective equipment:

Safety shoes

Protective gloves

Hard hat

Locally applicable laws and regulations on work safety and accident prevention must
be complied with.
