Intended use
All Wilo break tanks are made of black polyethylene (PE-HWU) as standard. This material is suitable
for use with drinking water (according to the KTW guideline (2013/470/D) of the Federal Environment
Agency (UBA) of the Federal Republic of Germany dated 7 March 2016).
The used polyethylene corresponds to the recommendation III of the Federal Institute for Risk
Assessment (BfR) and the requirements of §31, Abs.1 of the Food, Commodities and Feed Code
(LFGB), as well as Art.3, Abs.1a of the Regulation (EC) No. 1935/2004.
Tanks with the type designation GII and GIII can be used as pressureless pre-tanks or collecting tanks
for service water systems independent of the drinking water network which are not subject to the
standard specifications for drinking water protection.
Type FLA tanks are intended in particular for use with pressure boosting systems as fire extinguishing
supply systems in accordance with DIN1988 Part 6.
New generation G4 tanks are designed as pressureless break tanks for pressure boosting systems
requiring system separation with free outlet.
Tanks of the ACS series are delivered inclusive inlet float valve(s) and are certified for use with
drinking water (France).
The tanks of the series FLA, G4 and ACS are equipped with a non-circular free outlet of the type AB
according to EN13077 and EN1717 and can therefore be used as storage tanks for extinguishing water
systems according to DIN14462:2007-01 and for drinking water supply systems.
For the use and the application the respective valid regulations of the water supply companies have to
be observed!
