PEGASUS WING
1st Edition –
March 2011
– Software Version: V1.0 R01
125
18.7.8.
Piano Mode
This mode is particularly intended for piano-style playing with both hands covering the full
length of the keyboard and is based largely on the
Interval Mode
.
In this mode, all notes and chords played across the entire keyboard are recognised and used
by the accompaniment harmony recognition system, although intelligent programming ensures
that 1 – 2 voice melody runs either in the solo or bass playing areas are not used by the
harmony recognition system.
The basic logic of harmony recognition in this mode can be illustrated as follows:
A chord played with 3 or more notes always has precedence
Notes played in the right hand (melody notes) higher than an augmented 11
th
in the
scale (#11 = augmented 11
th
) are not used in the harmony recognition
1 + 5 chords (open 5
th
) are made possible by doubling the root
e.g. C + g + c
C1 + 5
Plus many other variations
18.7.9.
Pedal Harmony
This is a very simple use of the automatic accompaniment via a bass pedal board (optional), but
one that allows for only 3 harmony variations.
This mode requires only the root played on the pedal board and the use of one of the two foot
switches on the swell (volume) pedal.
Major chord
= root in pedal
e.g.:
C
=
C
(maj)
7
th
chord
= root in pedal +
left foot switch
e.g. G + left foot switch =
G7
Minor chord
= root in pedal +
right foot switch
e.g. F + right foot switch =
Fm
Tip
:
Piano mode is only for playing without a keyboard split
Chord recognition requires at least 3 keys to be played
The chords can be played with either left or right hand
The lowest note is always interpreted as the bass note (as with
Bass to Lowest
)
Tip:
You do
not
need to go into Settings to reset the assignments to the
LEFT
and
RIGHT
footswitches. The footswitch settings will still be displayed, but will remain
deactivated until the
Pedal Harmony
accompaniment mode setting is changed.
