4. CLIPPING
4.1 INSUFFICIENT PENETRATION
This error may be caused by the following:
•
High speed. Always ensure that the arc
penetrates the workpiece completely and is never
held at a forward angle of more than 10 - 15°. This
will prevent improper use of the cutting sleeve
and burns to the cutting attachment.
•
Workpiece too thick.
•
Earthing clamp not in good electrical contact with
the workpiece.
•
Worn out cutting sleeve and electrode.
•
Cutting current too low.
NOTE:
When the arc does not penetrate pieces
impede the cutting sleeve.
4.2 THE ARC GOES OUT
This error can be caused by:
•
Worn-out cutting sleeve, electrode or air
distributor.
•
Supply voltage too low.
4.3 SHINE CUT
If the cut looks oblique, switch off the machine and
replace the cutting sleeve. If the cutting current
is higher than 45 A, you must prevent the cutting
sleeve from coming into electrical contact with the
workpiece (even through scraps of molten metal),
as this condition causes rapid and sometimes
immediate destruction of the cutting sleeve hole,
leading to poor quality cuts.
4.4 EXCESSIVE WEAR OF REPLACEMENT
PARTS
This problem can be caused by excessive burning
of the end piece.
5. HELPFUL TIPS
•
Impurities in the air promote oxidation of the
electrode and cutting sleeve, and can make
it difficult to ignite the arc. If this happens,
use fine sandpaper to clean the end of
the electrode and the inside of the cutting
sleeve.
•
Make sure that the new electrode and the
cutting sleeve to be assembled are thoroug-
hly clean and degreased.
•
Always use original spare parts to avoid
damaging the torch.
6. MAINTENANCE
Always disconnect the power supply to the
machine before carrying out any operations,
which should always be carried out by qualified
personnel.
6.1 GENERATOR MAINTENANCE
In case of maintenance inside the machine, make
sure that switch H (fig. 2) is in position “O” and
that the power cable is disconnected from the
mains. Also check that there is no voltage at
the ends of the IGBT group capacitors. It is also
necessary to periodically buy and clean the inside
of the machine where there may be accumulated
metal dust, you can use compressed air to blow
this clean.
6.1.1 TROUBLESHOOTING
The LED B (Fig. 2) lights up when the following
conditions occur:
6.2 MAINTENANCE TORTS (see page 13)
Replacement of consumables.
The parts subject to wear are electrode 23, air
distributor 24 and cutting sleeve 25. All parts
should only be replaced after releasing protective
sleeve 27. Electrode 23 must be replaced when
a 1.5 mm deep crater has formed in the centre.
Cutting sleeve 25 must be replaced when the
central hole is damaged or enlarged compared
to the new part. The use of a worn out electrode
causes rapid wear of the cutting sleeve. When
the electrode is worn, the power of the machine
is reduced. Delayed replacement of the electrode
and cutting sleeve causes overheating of
consumables and reduces the service life of air
distributor 24.
ATTENTION! The cutting attachment 26 may
only be mounted on the head when electrode
23, air distributor 24 and cutting sleeve 25
are mounted.
