WARNING

BOOSTARES

can burn the eyes and skin;

Arc rays from the welding process produce intense heat

and powerful ultraviolet rays that can burn the eyes and

skin. Noise from some processes can damage hearing.

1.   Wear a welding helmet with the appropriate shade

to protect your face and eyes during welding or

viewing.

2.   Wear approved safety goggles. Safety goggles

      are recommended.

3.   Use protective shields or barriers

to protect others from flashing and glare; warn

others not to look into the arc. Glare; warn others

not to look into the arc.

4.   Wear protective clothing made of durable, flame-

retardant material (wool and leather) and foot

protection.

5.   Use approved earplugs or ear defenders

when the noise level is high.

6.   Never wear contact lenses during welding.

WARNING

FUMES AND GASES

can damage your health.

Fumes and gases are released during welding. Inhaling

these fumes and gases can damage your health.

1.   Keep your head out of the fumes. Do not inhale the

fumes.

2.   If you are working inside, ventilate the room well

and/or use an extraction fan at the arc to remove

the welding fumes and gases.

3.   In case of poor ventilation, use an approved

respirator with air supply.

4.  Read the safety data sheets and the manufacturer’s

instructions for metals, consumables, coatings and

cleaning products.

5.  Only work in an enclosed area if it is well ventilated

or when using a respirator with air supply. The

shielding gases used in welding can displace the air

and cause injury or death. Make sure the air is safe

to breathe.

6.   Do not weld in areas where degreasing, cleaning or

spraying operations are taking place. The heat and

radiation from the arc may react with vapours to

form highly toxic and irritating gases.

7.   Do not weld on coated metals such as galvanised

steel or steel coated with lead or cadmium unless

the coating has been removed from the welding

area, the area is well ventilated and, if necessary,

you are wearing a respirator with air supply. The

coatings and all metals containing these elements

may emit toxic fumes during welding.

 WARNING

Welding can lead to FIRE or

 EXPLOSIONS.

Sparks and spatters flying from the

welding arc.

The flying sparks and hot pieces of metal, the welding

spatters, the hot workpiece and the hot equipment can

cause fire and burns. Accidental contact of the electrode

or welding wire with metal objects can cause sparks

overheating or fire.

1.   Protect yourself and others from flying sparks and

sparks and pieces of hot metal.

2.   Do not weld in places where flying sparks can strike

      flammable materials.

3.   Remove all flammable materials within a radius of

radius of approx. 11 m from the welding arc, if this

is not possible, cover them. If this is not possible,

you should cover them properly with approved

      approved covers.

4.   Take care that sparks and hot materials from welding

can easily pass through small cracks and openings

      to adjacent areas.

5.   Beware of fire and keep a fire extinguisher vicinity.

6.   Be aware that welding against a ceiling, on a floor,

bulkhead or partition can cause a fire on the hidden

      side.

7.   Do not weld on closed containers such as tanks or

      drums.

8.   Connect the cable to the workpiece as close to the

welding area as practical keep the path of the

welding current as short as possible and prevent

possible unknown trajectories and the causing

      electric shock and fire.

9.   Do not use a welding machine for thawing frozen

      pipes to defrost frozen pipes.

10. Remove the rod electrode from the holder or cut the

welding wire the welding rod at the contact cutting

sleeve when the the device is not in use.

WARNING

FLASHING FROSTS AND SHARTS

                 OF HOT METAL may cause

                 injury.

During machining and grinding, flying pieces of metal

are released. Cooling welds can throw off slag.

1.   Wear approved welding shields or safety goggles

      side shields are recommended.

2.   Wear proper body protection to protect the skin.

      skin.
