Works may be carried out on the oil-air cooling unit only
- if the fan drive is disconnected from the power supply, if
the hydraulic drive is disconnected from the oil pump
respectively.
-if the unit is not under pressure, the temperature of the
media to be cooled does not exceed 40°C and the system
is drained!
In case of fan drive by hydraulic motor the max. allow.
rotational speed of the fan shall not be exceeded!
(More information are on the technical data sheet or
obtainable from our specialised personnel.)
No operation in case of partial or complete flooding!
Boiling or freezing of the medium to be cooled shall be
avoided in any case (danger of cooler core destruction)!
Explosion protection / ATEX
In addition the following applies for use of oil-air cooling
units in hazardous areas:
- No operation of oil-air cooling units without explosion
protective equipment!
- Oil-air cooling units explosion protected design are only
approved for:
ATEX group II, category 3, zone 2 or 22 respectively.
- Oil-air cooling units with ATEX equipment are allowed to
run in hazardous areas only
within the temperature range of –20 to +40°C.
In every case the allowable temperature range of the motor
must be complied with!
In case of doubt please apply to our experts before putting
into service!
Attention!
FUNKE oil-air cooling units are pressure equipment and
allowed to be connected, operated and maintained only by
technically qualified operating and servicing personnel!
National and international directives for pressure
equipment and machinery
(Europe: EU Pressure Equipment Directive (PED) 97/23/EC,
machinery directive 98/37/EC),
for hazardous fluids as well as on operating safety and
accident prevention must be observed.
(In Germany: Law on operating safety and pertinent
ordinances.)
In any case the user has to equip the plant with a control
device for a safe stoppage of the machinery.
Do not operate the oil-air cooling unit without guard screen!
The operator must check that there is nothing interfering
into the fan. He also must ensure that in case of assembly
near passageways persons without protective clothing
must keep a distance of min. 1,0 m.
Persons staying less than 1,0 m distant from the oil-air
cooling unit have to wear protective clothing. Persons with
long hair have to use a hairnet or appropriate cap!
To remove protective devices is not allowed – with the
exception for maintenance and servicing works – is
allowed only by authorised persons.
If the oil-air cooling unit is installed in areas where a
leakage of the hose or tube connection can injure persons,
place a spray guard or drip cover!
If in case of assembly near passageways operating
temperatures are exceeding 60°C, a protection against
accidental contact should be placed or the area should be
blocked!
Be careful in case of thermostat controlled starting of
ventilators! Possibly place an information sign near
passageways!
