Chapter 9 Maintenance and Care of the Gen-set
I. Maintenance and care schedule

Daily
Clean oil stains and dust on Gen-set
Check level of diesel oil, engine oil and coolant
Check if there is any air, oil or water leakage
Check if all electric circuits are getting loose or damaged or not
Clean dust in dust exhausting bag of air filter

Change engine oil and element of oil filter
Clean fuel filter and element
Check belt and tension
Clean air filter
Apply universal auto lithium base lubricating grease to water
pump bearing
Clean dirt on electric brush and commutator of starter and
lubricate bearing of alternator

Change engine oil and element of oil filter
Check water dropping condition at drain hole of water pump. If
it is severe, replace the water seal
Check if alternator and starter are installed firmly and check if
electric brush or commutator is worn or not
Check if wire joints of electrical apparatus are connected firmly
and replace it when any burn mark is found
Check valve clearance and adjust it to specified value
Clean parts of breather
Check if element of air filter is in good condition or not.
Check insulation resistance of alternator winding and dry it if it
is too low
Clean air filter of Gen-set

Replace element and seal ring of fuel filter
Clean daily-use fuel tank and various fuel passages
Replace element of air filter
