Installation and operating instructions
Swimming pool filtration systems
1. Filtration systems - description
In purchasing your filtration system, you have acquired a high quality product. We hope you enjoy
using your swimming pool and the filtration system.
We recommend that you read these installation instructions in addition to the enclosed operating
instructions to acquaint yourself with the specific characteristics and fields of application of this
system. The filtration system takes charge of mechanical treatment of the swimming pool water.
Perfect functioning is only guaranteed however if chemical water treatment is also performed. Please
therefore observe our description of WATER TREATMENT in the appendix.
1.1. Description of the 6-way valve:
The individual functions/positions are clearly indicated on the front of the valve, which rules out any
risk of confusion.
1.1.1 Filter:
Filter (operating condition)
In this position, the swimming pool water is pumped through the filter and
silica sand and subsequently back to the pool.
1.1.2 Closed:
Installation
All functions are suppressed in this position.
The circulating pump must not be switched on.
This position is used for maintenance work in the filter container.
1.1.3 Backwash:
Cleaning of the filter system
In this position, the swimming pool water is pumped through the filter in
reverse in order to clean the latter. The waste water is conveyed laterally out
of the valve (hose outflow = waste).
1.1.4 Circulate:
Circulate without filtering (increased circulation)
In this position, the swimming pool water does not flow through the filter, but
directly into the swimming pool instead. This setting is used following addition
of water treatment additives (e.g. following impulse chlorination).
1.1.5 Rinse:
Filtering in the drain
In this position, the lines of the filtration system are cleaned of residual
contamination after backwashing.
1.1.6 Waste:
Discharge/drain
In this position, the
swimming pool water is directly
pumped into the drain.
