Maintenance instructions
Lime scale can block the hole in the valve diaph-
ragm and interfere with the function of the valve.
It is therefore advisable to disassemble and clean
the valve at certain regular intervals. The fre-
quency depends on operating conditions and the
level of contamination in the water.
Trouble shooting
If the valve does not open
•
Check that power is supplied to the coil.
•
Check the coil with an instrument to determine
whether there is a break or a short circuit.
•
Disassemble the valve (see below) and check
the openings in the valve diaphragm.
•
Check the inlet strainer and clean as required.
•
Undo the coil and clean the surfaces of the
magnetic core.
If the valve does not close
•
Check that the coil is not live. The valve is
normally closed when the magnet is not
energised.
•
Check the return spring.
•
Check the diaphragm (pilot pressure opening).
Disassembling the valve
•
Pull the coil straight upwards. Use a screwdri-
ver if necessary to carefully undo the coil.
•
Use the tool supplied with the machine
(attached to one of the hoses when the
machine is delivered) to open the valve
housing. Slide the tool over the protruding
plastic sleeve to that the pegs on the tool
engage the corresponding sockets in the
valve housing.
•
Use a wrench or a pair of pliers and unscrew
the upper part of the valve housing.
