1.10 OPERATIONAL SAFETY
The following safety items are for the safe operation of the Walkabout Mother Bin during loading and unloading.
Failure to meet or exceed any of the following safety procedures will result in damage to the bin, towing vehicle, other
vehicles, property damage as well as serious injury or death.
▪ Wear approved protective clothing, gloves respiratory or filter mask and eye wear.
- Prolonged or repeated contact with grain dust can cause eye and respiratory irritation. Repeated exposure can
cause permanent damage.

Be sure the tow vehicle is in PARK, the park brake set and remove the key from the ignition.
- Use wheel chocks in front and behind the wheels before operating the Mother Bin.
▪
Keep the area around the Mother Bin clear of all personnel except the operator.
▪
Do not
fill or operate the bin around open flames, lit cigars or cigarettes, sparks or combustible surfaces (hot mufflers
or heating coils).
▪
Do not
leave the Mother Bin unattended when filling or unloading.
1.12 SAFETY SIGN-OFF FORM
Following the general Safety Standards specified by the American Society of Agricultural Engineers (ASAE) and the
Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA). Anyone who will be operating and/or maintaining the Walkabout
Mother Bin must read and clearly understand ALL Safety, Operating and Maintenance information presented in this
manual.
Do not operate or allow anyone else to operate this equipment until such information has been reviewed. Annually review
this information before the season start-up.
Make these periodic reviews of SAFETY and OPERATION a standard practice for all of your equipment. We feel that an
untrained operator is unqualified to operate this machine.
A sign-off sheet is provided for your record keeping to show that all personnel who will be working with the equipment
have read and understand the information in the Operator’s Manual and have been instructed in the safe operation of the
equipment.
1.11 STORAGE SAFETY
1. Do not allow children to play around or on the machine.
2. Park the machine on a level surface and chock the wheels.
3. Be sure the jack is in the vertical position with the locking pin in place before disconnecting from the tractor.
WARNING: Failure to have the hitch jack secured in the vertical position can cause serious injury if the hitch falls
when disconnected from the tractor.
