10.2.1 Configuring EtherCAT
To configure the EtherCAT
®
master, you need the ESI (EtherCAT
®
Slave Information)
files in XML format:
WAGO_series765.xml
and
WAGO_series765_diag.xml
The file
WAGO_series765.xml
contains a reference to the file
WAGO_se-
ries765_diag.xml
, which contains diagnostic texts. Perform the following steps in the con-
figuration software of the EtherCAT
®
master used:
• Import the XML files.
• Select the module from the device catalog.
• Set the parameters.

10.2.1.2 Setting Parameters
You can set the parameters for the module in the configuration software of the EtherCAT
®
master. The existing parameters contain the basic settings for the module, which you can
adapt to your application. Set the module and port parameters in the start-up parameters
in the configuration software of the EtherCAT
®
master. The EtherCAT
®
master sends
these parameters to the module when communication starts up.
